French cellist Clotilde Lacroix is a devoted chamber musician and ensemble player who likes to evolve in different universes such as theater, historical performance and contemporary music.
Highlights of this season include appearances at Théâtre de l’Odéon and Théâtre de l’Athénée Louis-Jouvet with the creation of La Réponse des Hommes by Raffier and Au Coeur de l’Océan by Blondy and Lavandier.
Clotilde is a member of the transdisciplinary collective Le Balcon. Since its creation in November 2008, she participated in numerous productions such as performances of Schönberg Pierrot Lunaire staged by Nieto, recording of Berlioz/Lavandier Symphonie Fantastique with Alpha Classics, Levinas fourth opera La Métamorphose at Festival Musica Strasbourg and more recently, Stockhausen Donnerstag aus Licht followed by Samstag aus Licht in Opéra Comique and Philharmonie de Paris as well as Grisay Quatre chants pour franchir le seuil with Barbara Hannigan in Opéra de Lille.
In residence at Singer-Polignac Foundation, Clotilde is developing vocal and instrumental chamber music repertoire within the ensemble Maja. They won the first price of Fnapec Competition in April 2018.
She regularly performs classical repertoire with orchestras like Le Cercle de l’Harmonie or Insula Orchestra. Her interest for period instruments started during her Master’s Degree at the Royal Conservatorium The Hague and leads her to play with ensemble such as La Tempête or La Fenice.
As a founding member of the string sextet The Hague String Variations, Clotilde performed in numerous concert halls in The Netherlands such as Konzertgebouw, Muziekgebouw Amsterdam, Tivoli Vredenburg Utrecht and on live programmation Npo Radio 4. She has been invited to play with the Rotterdam Philharmonic, Nederlands Kamerorkest and used to be a member of the Philharmonie Zuidnederland.
